SOUTH COAST & GLACIER HIKE
A journey into the untamed heart of Iceland. Landmannalaugar is a geological anomaly—a kaleidoscope of rhyolite mountains, steaming vents, and vast lava fields that feel more Martian than terrestrial.
While standard tours observe the ice from a distance, we take you onto the glacier itself. Equipped with technical gear and led by a certified glacier guide, you will navigate the ancient ice formations, peering into deep moulins and walking among centuries-old sculptures of frozen water. This is an active day designed for those who wish to engage with the landscape, not just witness it.
CURATED HIGHLIGHTS
- The Glacier Hike: The core of the expedition. A private, guided ascent onto Sólheimajökull, exploring the ever-changing landscape of ash-covered ridges and deep blue fissures.
- Seljalandsfoss: Experience the unique perspective of walking behind a 60-meter cascade.
- Skógafoss: Witness the raw power of one of Iceland’s largest waterfalls. Local folklore speaks of a chest of gold buried behind the water by the settler Þrasi—a legend that remains part of the region’s history.
- Reynisfjara: A study in geology. Walk the world-famous black sand beach lined with geometric basalt columns and facing the powerful Atlantic swell.
- Vík í Mýrdal: A pause in Iceland’s southernmost village, offering dramatic coastal views and local culture.
